When to Schedule Your Shoot
The front of the home is typically the first image seen in a listing, making exterior lighting an important factor in overall presentation.
In general, it is best to schedule your shoot when the front of the home is receiving sunlight.
If the front of the home is in shade or the sun is positioned behind the property, the exterior may appear darker or less balanced in photos. In some cases, this can also create strong shadows or direct glare that affects image quality.

Twilight Photography Scheduling
Twilight photography is scheduled separately from standard daytime appointments due to the precise timing required.
Whenever possible, scheduling both the daytime shoot and twilight session on the same day is preferred for consistency and efficiency, but it is not required.
Twilight sessions typically begin approximately 15–30 minutes before sunset and continue through the short window after sunset when natural light and exterior lighting are balanced.
To achieve the best results, the property should be ready for exterior photography prior to arrival. This includes having interior and exterior lights turned on, water and fire features activated when applicable, and ensuring gates are unlocked for access around the property. Interior access may also be needed during the session if lighting adjustments are required.
Because twilight timing is very limited, readiness at the start of the session helps ensure the full lighting window can be used effectively.
Property Preparation
A real estate photoshoot is a scheduled appointment with a set amount of time reserved for your property. The session begins upon arrival.
To ensure the full appointment time is used for capturing the property, all cleaning, decluttering, and staging should be completed before the scheduled shoot time.
